Audit Process
Stage 1 (Document Review)
This initial stage is the formal start of the assessment process. The stage 1 assessment includes a system review to determine if the design of the management system meets the standard`s requirements. I.e. are all processes and documentation required by the standard in place. The stage 2 visit shall be discussed during the stage 1 assessment.
Stage 2 (Initial Assessment)
This visit focuses on how the management system has been implemented and shall confirm that Polices, objectives, and procedures are in place and effectively implemented. The management system meets all the requirements of the standard.
Surveillance Visits
Once the management system has been certified, a program of surveillance visits is followed, these visits aim to ensure that the certified management system is:
- Maintained
- Operational
- Continually improved.
Renewal Visit
Renewal visits include a review of previous performance and may include:-
- Lessons learned
- Trends noted as a result of audits
- Changes to system documentation etc.
