NS-1™ Accreditation
The NS-1™ Accreditation Programme was introduced to support both the end user and the service companies within the Oil & Gas Industry.
As equipment and drilling products are required to cope with tougher environments and additional operational stresses, so the ability to not only meet the specifications within NS-1™ but also to be seen to meet them, has become more important than ever before.
More equipment is now being supplied from a greater range of countries and therefore it is important for the industry to know that there is an independent assessment of equipment that crosses international borders whilst setting a high level for quality and competency.
Fearnley Procter, authors and developers of the NS-1™ Standard, have over the last 15 years developed the standards using their Equipment Failure Investigation History and QA/QC experience to minimise the risk of equipment failure.
The NS Accreditation Programmes are built on this platform to provide a mark of quality and competence: that suppliers can use to support their products and services; and end users can rely on when using them in the field.
NS-1™ Accreditation Levels - Each type of Accreditation has a number of levels within it.
In order to achieve a higher level of approval all previous levels need to have been successfully completed.
There are four types of NS-1™ Accreditation available:
- Facility (manufacture, rental, repair/refurbishment, assembly, applicators).
- Products (hardbanding and soon to come internal plastic coating and thread compounds).
- Processes (application and re-application of hardbanding and internal plastic coating).
- Design (equipment and connections).
Overviews of each process are available on the downloads page.
